I have been photographing this house for more than 20 years. I used to think that I was lazy, revisiting the same location, making photographs of the same house. But, as some famous photographer has said, a landscape is an event. And so it is true. And like any event, the landscape is in motion, although perhaps more slowly. Everything is changing all the time. I was changing too, in my approach to the scene, in the gear I used to make the exposure. The end result was always a satisfying image, even after so many years. And so I return, year after year, knowing that someday someone will tear this house down.
